Are unions still necessary?

Labor unions formed to guarantee Americans' workplace rights. We now have laws protecting workers, so do we need unions?

The reason for the over the top regulations about who can plug in a plug or flip a switch is due to the corporations trying to leverage every loophole into cost savings.

It sure is funny how the corporations use their own brand of propaganda. I was recently terminated from one of those companies and they have been going more and more to part time associates and finding ways to get rid of full time long term employees. I think if we had had a union, I wouldn't have had times when I nearly wet myself because as a cashier, I couldn't get anyone to watch to register so that I could go to the restroom. That was because they have gone to a computerized scheduling system that does not schedule enough cashiers, or other associates either.
